Please be patient . . .

While I clean up our computer!!! I have known that we were running out of space on our C drive for a while, but the other day while I was trying to upload pictures from my camera - it hit home, hard. The C drive is FULL!!!! So, I have to do a little cleaning up and deleting and reorganizing of the computer files. In the meantime, please be patient as I do so. It's hard to find the time these days for projects like this. But, I'm working on it while I can :) It will be done, hopefully, by tomorrow or Saturday. That's hopefully, ok? I try!

Thank you for your patience!

Smiles and a new haircut!

Well, our little Brock is already 6 weeks old! What?!? How did that happen? It actually makes me quite sad. I just hate how fast the time flies by when they're so little. The last 6 weeks have been a crazy whirlwind of emotions. From extreme joy to extreme exhaustion, I've been through it all. There have been tears of joy from him smiling at me, to tears of desperation at 4am when I can't figure out why he's not sleeping. But, through it all, I'm learning more and more about Brock and loving him more and more each day. He's started smiling at us a lot, and along with the smiles come a little "conversation". He'll sit and stare at us and tell us all about something with some coos and squeals. I love it. It makes me smile and melts my heart. Although I still want the chance to experience a daughter, having 2 sons is pretty amazing. I have 2 wonderful little boys in my life that are someday going to grow up to be men, and I'm so excited for what the future holds for them. But, I'm ready to slow it down and take each day for what it is - a special day full of special moments, firsts and frustrations. This is the hardest job I've ever had and ever will have, but I want this job and all of it's hardships. It's the best thing in the world :)

And here's something to help me remember to slow it down and let it happen. I'm stealing this from Amy, but it's important and I loved it on her blog, so I'm putting it on mine. And Amy - if you want to keep this as something that I would love for a future gift . . . I'd be thrilled with it :) This is a saying that hangs on the wall at her parents' house:

Cleaning and scrubbing can wait 'til tomorrow
For babies grow up we have learned to our sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs and dust go to sleep,
I am rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

And so, my house is not as clean as I think it should be, but I'm holding my babies as much as I can, while I can :)

Check out Caden's new haircut! It's a summer 'do and he loves it. As do I, because it's much easier to get him to sit still for 3 minutes for this cut rather than 15 minutes for the other haircut! I can't believe he's 3 and as big as he is. But, I'll tell you one thing . . . he doesn't stop getting more and more cute every day! He's going to be a heartbreaker someday, I just know it :)

Bath time! Brock is thoroughly enjoying baths now, which means that every once in a while, he'll hop in the tub with Caden :)

Just another day . . .

Trying to get Caden to look "normal" for a picture is pretty much impossible anymore. When I ask him to smile, he usually gives me a fake one, or tells me that he just doesn't want to smile at the camera. Ok, fine. I'll take what I can get :)

And, on a nice note . . . we're finally sleeping :) Well, at night anyway. We're still working on the daytime sleeping. Not that it doesn't happen, it's just sometimes really hard to get it to happen. But, for a few nights now, Brock has been sleeping 7 hours his first stretch and then another 2 1/2 - 3 hours. That makes for a pretty happy mommy :) I'm starting to feel like I'm getting the hang of this . . . but, tomorrow, things could change and I could be thrown for another loop. We'll just wait and see and take each day as it comes.

Amy, this one's for you. We LOVE Snug as a Bug :) It's a cozy, wonderful blanket and we can't thank you enough for it :)
